Field Visit to Savar Tannery Estate for Intervention Updates

On December 17th, 2025, the SUSLEATHER project team conducted a series of field visits to key Tannery Estate in the region to gather updates on ongoing interventions and discuss important Occupational Health and Safety matters.
The first stop was Samina Tannery (Pvt) Limited, where the team met with key personnel to assess the progress of the PD Lab development and review other risk assessment-related matters. The discussions centered on ensuring the smooth operation of the lab and identifying potential risks that may impact the project’s outcomes. The team also explored strategies for improving the operational efficiency of the tannery and addressing environmental concerns.
Next, the team visited Sadar Tannery Ltd., where similar discussions took place. The focus remained on evaluating the interventions implemented at the tannery, with a particular emphasis on the progress made in risk assessments and safety protocols. The team examined ways to mitigate risks further and improve working conditions for employees.

The final stop was at Anjuman Trading Corporation, where the team again discussed updates on the intervention process, PD lab setup, and risk assessments. The visit also included a detailed conversation about the challenges faced by the tannery in implementing sustainable practices, with actionable solutions being proposed.
These visits are an integral part of the project, ensuring that the interventions are on track and that the tannery companies are adequately prepared for any potential risks. The collaboration between the project team and these companies continues to strengthen, paving the way for a successful project outcome.
