The key outcome of the Susleather project is new empirical knowledge on sustaining the positive outcomes of lean and occupational health and safety (OHS) improvement in Bangladeshi tanneries. Additionally, it will also ascertain how the institutional logics perspective could be incorporated for sustainable implementation of lean and OHS. Therefore, to maintain OHS improvements connected with Lean interventions, it is anticipated that the adoption of innovative practices by this research project will stimulate behavioral changes and develop awareness in OHS practices among tannery management and workers. Furthermore, the development of a policy brief, based on the results of this inventory research, is expected to provide benefits for Bangladeshi Tannery Associations, the Bangladesh government, and international buyers.
